In the safety guide it says, "Always keep the resistor/clip assembly connected to the capacitors while you are working on the amp for safety reasons. MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU REMOVE THIS BEFORE TURNING THE AMP BACK ON OR BIG DAMAGE WILL HAPPEN!"  Exactly what damage would that be?  I may have left a set of jumpers on a cap and turned the amp back on.  Now the amp is totally dead.  Nothing happens when I plug it in and turn it back on.  Did I blow a trasnformer?  What do I need to fix this?

Have you even opened it back up yet?  I would start there.  Check to see if you did leave the jumpers in.  If not, check for any blown components.  And sniff around a little too (seriously.)

Stupid question:  is your speaker plugged in?

If you did leave the jumpers on I would think the first things to check would be the fuse (obviously) and the rectifier diodes. I don't know this circuit but the rectifier may be all in one, a square black box with 4 legs, or separate diodes. Hopefully it just popped the fuse.

There would have been a lot of smoke if it fried a transformer and it probably would have tripped your home circuit breaker as well.

Thank god, it was the fuse.  Honestly, I panicked because I knew I had done something I was warned in all caps not to do.  I thought for sure I'd done some serious damage.  And yes I knew I left the jumpers on.  When I said "I may have" I was being facetious.  The amp was open and I new I had left them on.  And there was much swearing and panic.

Now on to solve the original problem I was having in the first place. . . . .

Now that that problem is solve. . . It seems that somewhere in my mod I damaged the ribbon cable connecting the board to v1.  Can anyone tell me where to purchase a replacement?
