Also check out the Traynor YCV40.  They're clones of a HRD, slightly higher gain.  Just ensure you have a good speaker in there.  I got mine off Craigslist for $400.  I've seen them going for as little as $320.

I have two HR Deluxes and love them! Got them both off of Ebay for less than $350.00 each. I play in a classic rock, pop and blues band and these amps are killer for me!
